The Practice Of Sun Gazing

Hira Ratan Manek (HRM) was a trained Mechanical Engineer from India. Sun gazing was his interest since childhood. According to the story, The Mother inspired him. She told him in 1962 that “it was time to bring sungazing to the modern world.” So he studied it for many years and developed the sun gazing method described below. The so-called HRM Phenomenon was even studied by NASA.
It is very important to follow the specific protocol of the HRM sun gazing process. This is to prevent damage to the eyes. For example, it is important to remove glasses or contact lenses BEFORE sun gazing! The process described below has three 3-month phases. After 9 months following this practice the practitioner is considered “fully recharged.”
First, let’s establish a few essentials. To follow the HRM sun gazing method it is important to:
Have access (unobstructed view) to either sunrise or sunset. Of course, this is weather dependent. But missing a few days here and there shouldn’t undo what was already accomplished.
Make time in your daily schedule - up to 1 hour at the onset of sunrise or the last hour before sunset. It’s called the ‘safe period’ as it is the time during which the sun is least intense. Morning is best.
Note: the idea of sun gazing or suneating is that at the end of the day (pun intended) food equals energy. Sunlight is energy. The more you are able to take in energy from the sun, the less energy you will need to take in by other means (including food). Makes sense?
The HRM Sun Gazing Method
0 - 3 Months
On the first day, stand barefoot facing the sun and gaze into the red light for 10 seconds. Each day thereafter, 10 more seconds are added to the previous time: 20 seconds, 30 seconds, 40 seconds, and so on. After 10 days gaze at the sun for a total of 1 minute and 40 seconds. Standing bare feet on bare earth is recommended whenever possible. People may experience improvements when it comes to depression, mental clarity, eye sight, dream recollection, and sleep rhythm. By the end of the third month sun gazing time will be around 15 minutes.
3 - 6 Months
During the second 3-month phase people may experience improvements of physical ailments. Studies support that Red Light Therapy (RLT) can help with brain function, chronic kidney disease, hair growth, cancer prevention, and more. Also, the feeling of hunger is waning. As people take in more energy from the sun, their urge for eating decreases. This also means a reduction of toxins associated with regular food intake. Yet, practitioner should eat when feeling hungry. At the six month mark the daily time spent sun gazing has increased to 30 minutes.
6 - 9 Months
In the final 3-month phase HMR states that for some people the feeling of hunger is almost gone. But, energy levels are high as a result of the brain being “well activated with sun energy.” Results may vary depending on the individual’s level of commitment and belief. When the 9 months mark is reached (44 minutes of sun gazing time in one setting), the regiment changes.
After 9 Months
Sun gazing is discontinued. Instead, the method instructs to now walk barefoot for 45 minutes daily. Just walking, no running or jogging, preferably on warm soil (no grass). This is to activate the pineal gland which even modern science now considers to be our third eye.
At this point the sun and the earth have done “their magic” and the practitioner will now transition to maintenance. To do that, HMR advises to continue walking for 45 minutes daily for one year. At this stage, only a few minutes of direct sun exposure 3-4 time a week will do. This will keep up energy levels and boost the immune system.
Tip: Sun gazing can be both illuminating and invigorating. It has the potential for healing the mind-body and spirit connection when done slowly and cautiously. En-Joy!
